Windows 7 has an onscreen keyboard that’s quite handy for those typing in Spanish (or any other language, for that matter). It’s also useful for finding and using symbols in various fonts!
The above layout is presented mostly as a reference for those ten keys on the far right. Below are the three Spanish layouts – regular, holding either Shift key, and holding the right Alt key.

A few more characters are available by holding down the right Alt key.
Sadly, the keyboard menu in the taskbar doesn’t have an option for opening the on-screen keyboard like the Mac OS equivalent. “Show language bar” only opens an irritating floating menu. Open the onscreen keyboard in Windows 7 via: Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access > On-Screen Keyboard.
